Climate change is one of the greatest challenges in the modern world. Rising global average temperatures are causing rising sea levels, heavy rainfall in some regions and prolonged droughts in others, as well as a significant impact on agriculture, health, biodiversity and clean water supply.
As part of our carbon footprint management and in-line with Egypt 2030 strategy, we report our CO2 emissions publicly on voluntary basis to GCCA, applying sectoral criteria following their Guidelines: The Cement CO2 and Energy Protocol – CO2 and Energy Accounting and Reporting Standard for the Cement Industry, by v.3 (2011). Data is also used for a global industry benchmark. TITAN participates and contributes to the Getting the Numbers Right (GNR) for CO2 and energy information, according to the Global Cement and Concrete Association (GCCA). Our Group performance indicators are reported annually based on Getting the Numbers Right (GNR) on Cement Industry Energy and CO2 Performance.
Alexandria and Beni Suef cement plants, as well as their attached quarries, have successfully accomplished the “Energy Management System ISO 50001” audits and are now certified for their Energy Efficiency Management Systems according to the international standard ISO 50001:2018.
