We were among the first 500 signatories in 2002 and became a Participant of the UN Global Compact (UNGC) in 2017.
We support the achievement of the most relevant UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for our business by 2030 at Group level and through our local UNGC networks.
We are one of the first cement companies worldwide to have our CO2 emissions reduction targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) as consistent with levels required to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement.
We have been a member of the Global Cement and Concrete Association (GCCA) since 2018. GCCA incorporated the activities of the WBCSD Cement Sustainability Initiative (CSI).
We became a member of CSR Europe in 2004, and founding members of national partner organizations in Albania, Greece, Kosovo and Serbia.
We signed the “Business Ambition for 1.5°C”, led by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) in partnership with the UN Global Compact and the We Mean Business coalition, committed to keeping global warming to 1.5°C and reaching net-zero emissions by 2050. By signing this, we also joined the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC) “Race to Zero” global campaign.
